Home Sweet Home? Skegness

Cat no. 206003
Anglia Television programme on community leaders in two Lincolnshire towns.
Anglia Television's 'Focus On' series looks at life in two Lincolnshire locales, the seaside town of Skegness and the industrial town of Grantham. Profiling a community leader in each town, the programme highlights the nature of life in two distinct parts of Lincolnshire. In Skegness, Cyril Catlin is a hotelier who doubles as an entertainments organiser for the local council, officiating on children's donkey races, guiding local landladies in rehearsals for their annual concert, leading regular talent competitions and overseeing Skegness carnival. In the second part of the programme, Catlin's life is contrasted with that of Tom Scott, a 'Chaser' at the Aveling-Barford engineering works in Grantham, who also acts as Director of Grantham Town Football Club and serves his constituents as a local Conservative councillor.
