‘The Nutshell’ is reputed to be the smallest public house in Britain. Inside the landlord serves drinks to the regulars around the small and crowded bar. Reporter Chris Rainbow explains the pub’s credentials as possibly the smallest on record over shots of the cellar. Chris Rainbow speaks to Publican Mr Cracknell, who for the most part avoids answering the questions put to him; instead he makes humorous comments. Shots inside the bar feature the pub regulars drinking and smoking, and the fixtures and wall decorations. Chris Rainbow then interviews the pub regulars, who in good spirit similar to their landlord, fail to take the reporter’s questions seriously. Chris Rainbow winds up the report referring to the government legislation that allows home-brewing to be tax exempt and its possible effect on the pub trade.
