1961 , Sutton Bridge (Lincolnshire)
Cat no. 87211
An Anglia Television profile of poacher and naturalist Mackenzie Thorpe.
Known locally as Kenzie the Wild-Goose Man, Mackenzie Thorpe is a poacher turned naturalist who has stalked the Lincolnshire Marshes for over forty years. Returning to his Sutton Bridge home after a successful hunt, Thorpe spends his day tending to his wildfowl aviary, checking his gun, showing off his collection of decoy duck models and working on an oil painting filled with wildfowl. Climbing onto his motor scooter, Thorpe sets off on another hunt. Arriving on the Lincolnshire Marshes, he sets up his decoys, finds a sheltered position and takes aim at a low flying group of birds.
