New Cattle Market Being Built
1960 , Norwich (Norfolk)
Cat no. 224277
BBC Look East report about the construction of Norwich's new cattle market.
After the closure of the old cattle market in the centre of Norwich, a new facility is under construction on the outskirts of the city. Builders are hard at work, constructing walls and laying concrete surfaces. BBC East correspondent talks to Mr. Fraser, who discusses the progress of the construction, noting that - despite the problems of a national brick shortage - the market will be open in July as scheduled. Fraser also speaks about the new amenities, including a variety of food outlets serving 'everything from a cheese roll to a four-course meal' at what he is confident will be one of the top cattle markets in the country.
