Billy Smart's Circus at Peterborough
1961 , Peterborough (Cambridgeshire)
Cat no. 214128
A television news report on a visit to Peterborough by Billy Smart's Circus.
With a circus truck seemingly broken-down, a clown in an oversized suit tells his passengers they must get out of the cab and walk the rest of the way to the Circus site. As the cab door opens, it is shown to contain two women, a man and a dog. The man and two women immediately head to the back of the truck, where they attach themselves to stilts. Watched by a small, but amused crowd, the stiltwalkers head off down the road, following both the clown and the dog, which walks on its hind legs.
